05 May 2022
Since 2013, May 5th has been World Password Day; a day intended to encourage good password habits to help keep us secure.
As we all have to use passwords, acquiring those good habits are important, but increasingly other forms of authentication are emerging - think of biometrics.
We are told that we should not re-use passwords, which means that we will have a lot of them to handle. Maybe offloading the task to a 'password management' app would be best approach. Password Managers can generate passwords that you will probably forget or not even remember in the first place.
However, if you like DIY and need a little help with creating new passwords, why not use the 'three random words' system that the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recommends.
If next time you are creating a password you can't think of yet another three random words, there are even sites like this that will generate them for you.
Stay Safe!
